save some face, you know you’ve only got one

This weekend I’ve been putting my energy towards relaxing and prioritizing. My motto lately has been onward and upward, but I must admit it gets hard sometimes. I have many things I am/ have been trying to accomplish, but the road can be slow.
Friday:  I woke up to a deer in my backyard (second time it’s happened, third time I’ve seen a deer around my neck of the woods) so beautiful!

camera phone pic (more to come)

After my sighting I did some work and made some progress on a song that I’ve been trying to conquer. Friday evening I went over to the Conte’s house [Joe and Victoria] who are fellow friends of Johnny and I. I brought over my paint supplies so Victoria and I could get creative while our boys Rocked it Out.

it's a work that's been in progress

I enjoy various outlets.
On Johnny & I’s drive to their place and back home (in the wee hours of the morning), we listened to Radioheads new album ‘The King of Limbs’.  I was surprised when I found out it was only eight songs and although I like that they are constantly changing the direction of their albums, I was hoping to hear a bit less electronic instruments and a bit more guitar.  Johnny says it’s almost as if the album never starts, but I already have a few favorite tracks :).
Saturday:  I woke up and blasted The Killers ‘Hot Fuss’ album, such a classic.  A few errands were ran (went to get a switch to fix my Beatles light I got a couple years ago for Christmas), went to the grocery store and almost made a trip to Amoeba Music to buy a few DVD’s I’ve been wanting to see but the line to park in the garage was monstrous.  It rained Friday and Saturday so the city was in shambles, people don’t exactly know how to handle the rain in LA.
Later that evening I did some more work on music and hung a “tree of life” tapestry in the studio (pictures to come) & some string lights to add a little more life to the room.  I also put together a lamp for the house.  It’s the little things that make me feel that much more at home.

Today:  I focused on cleaning the house and had a delicious lunch at Mad Bull’s Tavern.  I got the Tuna Tartar, their mini burgers (called Sliders), and a beer (Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat)…So Delicious!  For dinner we’ve ordered food in from a market down the street. Were now watching “Exit Through the Gift Shop” a documentary of a a French immigrant in Los Angeles, and his obsession with street art.  I LOVE documentaries, a deep hidden passion of mine.
Busy day ahead tomorrow, got to take Blue Boy (my jeep) to get fixed, yet again.  And go about usual business.

**I hope everyone had a fulfilling Valentine’s Day.  I received flowers and chocolates from my father, he never lets me down… it’s tradition.  And my sweetheart took me to sushi and treated me to some goodies as well:D.  I woke up and made cinnamon rolls for breakfast (a gift in itself).  A Holiday created to express how much you care, couldn’t ask for anything better <3.
